Postpartum Depression Update and Rebranding Announcement

I’m alive!

Yes, after 8 long months I am finally back and I’m going to try and make this post short and sweet while also giving away as much info as possible regarding my incredibly long hiatus.

As you may know, or maybe not if you aren’t following my blog’s instagram account, I was pregnant the last time you heard from me. Well, I had my baby 7 months ago and he is doing incredibly well however, I have not been able to say the same for myself.

About a month before I had him I got hit with a huge wave of depression which has carried on throughout the months since he’s been born. Despite my fragile mental state, I chose to continue taking on my professional responsibilities as a social media manager, even though the thought of doing my job made me incredibly anxious.

For months I had considered quitting because I was putting a lot of my passion projects aside, such as this blog, in exchange for a lot of stress and very little monetary gain. That’s why I have made the difficult decision to relinquish those responsible in pursuit of other career avenues.

Over the months and through dealing with my depression I’ve had a lot of time to think about who I am and what I want to do with my life. In my previous job I took on the role of graphic designer in order to create content for my clients. In doing so, I discovered my love for the visual aspect of marketing. That is why I have chosen to return to school in an effort to obtain my degree in graphic design.

Through my exploration of graphic design I have also rediscovered my love for art and my innate artistic abilities pass on to my by my father.

I truly believe that I have found my passion and my calling in life and for the past few weeks I’ve been wanting to change this blog in an effort to reflect that. That is why I will be doing a full rebranding complete with a new name and new content. I still want to talk about my life and other topics that interest me but, for the most part, this blog will now be about my art, design, and crafts.

I want to show you guys what I am currently doing as an artist as well as document my journey as a mother of 2 who is going back to school.

I hope you guys who are already here decide to stick around but if you don’t then I completely understand and I hope to gain many more followers with this new content that I’ll be making. Thank you so much for your understanding and I can’t wait to see where this new direction takes us.

4 Tips for Reselling on Poshmark

I’m not going to sugarcoat things, I need money. I mean……don’t we all? But seriously, I’m about to give birth to my second baby and finding good clients for my freelance social media marketing business is proving to be a bit difficult at the moment. Both of those things combined with the fact that my husband will no longer have his secure job with the military in a few months has me completely freaking out. For the past few months or so I’ve been scrambling to find work from home stuff I could possibly do because I’m going to have 2 kids soon and childcare is expensive!

Hospital Bag Checklist (with Amazon links)

check list

I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant with my second baby and if there’s anything I learned from  first pregnancy it’s DON’T PROCRASTINATE WHEN IT COMES TO THE HOSPITAL BAG. My first baby came a week and a day early and all I had packed was two onesies and an outfit for myself. This time around I plan on being extra prepared and maybe I can help you prepare as well. So here’s a comprehensive guide to what I plan on bringing with me to the hospital complete with Amazon links just in case you see something you might need and want to pack it in your bag as well.

I’m Not Perfect: An Introduction

Before you get into the substance of this blog post I really hope you get a kick out of my blog’s name because ain’t it the freaking truth! As I type this I’m sitting on my messy couch wearing no pants and an oversized army T-shirt with my hair up in a messy bun and believe me, it’s not one of those cute ones you see in-depth YouTube tutorials for.
